Congratulations to United Yacht broker Greg Graham on the sale of a pre-owned 2018 Viking Yachts 48 Sport Tower. Captain Greg introduced the buyers to "Southern Escape" who were a referral from another client Greg has helped in the past. "The new owners of Southern Escape were previous Boston Whaler owners who plan to do their fishing and boating around Ocean Reef," said Greg Graham. Captain Greg has been a familiar face around Ocean Reef for almost 3 decades having been a captain for several well-known member of the Ocean Reef Club.
Southern Escape features the upgraded MAN V8 1200HP engines that result in a comfortable 30 knot cruise and a top end speed in the mid-30's. Viking's raked entry and forward chine on the 48 Sport Tower help to pierce the waves when running in a head sea for a much drier ride as the spray is diverted downward. "Viking does a fantastic job building a great running boat, very maneuverable, and of course it's loaded with fishing features," continued Greg.
The tower on Southern Escape was built and installed by Viking's subsidiary company Palm Beach Towers who are known as some of the best in the business. Additionally, the cockpit is 124 square feet for maximum room for everyone to move around when fighting a fish. Other features on Southern Escape include: Seakeer gyro for stabilization, transom fish box, rocket launchers, and a split observation mezzanine for guests who want to watch the action.
The interior of the Viking 48 Sport Tower offers high-end teak joinery and spacious accommodations, particularly for a Sportfish under 50 feet. The salon features a flast screen television, a L-shaped lounge, fully equipped galley, and two staterooms. The master suite is placed forward in the bow and has a queen-sized berth. An additional guest stateroom is starboard side with over/under bunks. Both staterooms share a spacious bathroom with shower.
