100' Palmer Johnson Motor Yacht 1999
Palmer Johnson is an iconic brand with a heritage of over 100 years of boatbuilding, with its first wooden yacht launched in 1928 in Sturgeon Bay, WI on the Great Lakes, and military support vessels during WWII. The original company was sold in 1956 and renamed Palmer Johnson after the founder's son. During the 1960s, Palmer Johnson was one of the pioneers of aluminum yacht construction and set records with the 100' aluminum yacht built in 1972 for King Juan Carlos of Spain, for her length and 46 knot speed--fastest in the world for over a decade! In the recent past decades, Palmer Johnson has become renowned for its high-performance superyachts. Today, under new ownership headquartered in Monaco, Palmer Johnson builds three contemporary carbon fiber series of yachts in Pisa, Italy.
Legendary C. Raymond Hunt, one of the most widely recognized and respected names in naval architecture to this day, is credited with the naval architecture and exterior design of the 1999 FORTUNA (previously named Madcap and Twisted Pair), among his several superyacht designs for Palmer Johnson. Interior design was done by Palmer Johnson’s in-house designers at the Sturgeon Bay facility. The 100’ Palmer Johnson, FORTUNA, a two-deck superyacht, features a semi-displacement aluminum hull, aluminum superstructure, and accommodates up to 6 guests and 4 crew including the captain. Her twin 1350hp MY diesels give FORTUNA a top speed of 24 knots and a range of 2800 NM at 21 knot cruising speed. This beautiful classic Palmer Johnson exhibits the brand’s core values of excellent design, performance, and emotional appeal. Exterior and interior spaces flow together for a completely enjoyable yachting experience.
FORTUNA is a beautiful, one-of-a-kind motor yacht designed for luxury cruising and entertaining.
American-built, this beautiful 100 foot/30.5m cruising yacht was designed in a luxury houseboat style that offers elegant accommodations and living spaces beyond what a typical motor yacht can offer. Whether hosting a formal dinner party or embarking on a week-long luxury vacation, FORTUNA will delight all of your guests in her grandeur.
Built by US shipyard Palmer Johnson in 1999, Fortuna was conceived at the drawing board of famed superyacht designer C. Raymond Hunt. Fine craftsmanship is evident at every turn, and she has been beautifully maintained since delivery, with various refits and upgrades throughout her life. FORTUNA was most recently re-fit in 2014 and includes interior upgrades that were over 7-figures in total, all while being professionally maintained by an experienced captain.
FORTUNA features many details not usually found on a vessel of this size. Her striking profile on the water is due to her spacious, luxury liveaboard-style design. She features three staterooms, with further accommodations for a crew of four. A spacious interior includes the main salon, as well as a bar and kitchen area which are decorated with tasteful, classic wooden features throughout. The master stateroom offers a large berth for the owner along with ample storage and chic appointments.
The covered flybridge is the heart of the vessel's entertaining space with ample seating and beautiful views of the surrounding ocean. A result of her layout design, FORTUNA'S deck is very generous and offers room for sunbathing, cocktails, and enjoying the view. Guests will appreciate various large outside spaces and experience alfresco-style living and dining. She also features a jacuzzi spa that six guests can relax in, and plenty of space to store tenders, watersports equipment and toys. The aft deck has full sliding glass doors, which pocket away when the climate is warm, meaning that guests can enjoy the best of indoor-outdoor living. The stern has a very large swim platform for activities like diving, boarding, or sunbathing.
Enjoyed by her current owner for the past six years, she is a proven, well-loved vessel with long-range capability (she has traveled from Alaska to Nova Scotia).
