2008 Lyman-Morse 62, SWEETIE
SWEETIE is a custom design by well-known New England yacht design firm, Zurn Yacht Design and built in Maine by legendary boatbuilder, Lyman-Morse. This Lyman-Morse 62 features the recognizable authentic classic, yet sophisticated, downeast style of designer Doug Zurn, such as the trunk cabin and narrower hull proportions. She features a unique bi-level open cockpit/aft deck—upper level is configured for al fresco entertaining, while lower level can hold a 10.5ft RIB. SWEETIE was designed for original owners who were experienced boaters, for long-range coastal cruising in a comfortable homelike setting and extra berths for occasional additional guests and grandkids. Zurn’s proven hull bottom with twin CAT C-18 1000hp propulsion system is engineered to provide a seakindly, dry, efficient, and fast ride. The agile hull with Seastar hydraulic steering handles well, turning quickly and accurately, maintaining a level, quiet ride. Roll is minimized by the active, dynamic trim tab stabilization system; no fins protrude from the hull to cause drag. Well-designed shallow prop tunnels help reduce draft to about 4ft for cruising islands, exploring coves, and other coastal areas.
Lyman-Morse used the SCRIMP method of resin infusion to mold the hull, deck, and superstructure for best resin-to-glass composites ratio yielding lighter weight and greater strength for long distance cruising durability. The highly skilled and experienced shipwrights and woodworkers, who are capable of creating heirloom-quality furniture, produced the exquisite interior joinery of red birch with cherrywood highlights, cabinetry, furniture, and the magnificent spiral stairway to the flybridge, along with the teak exterior trim.
This is a high quality; semi-custom build in excellent condition featuring low hour Cat C-18 Diesels and fresh Awl-Grip Paint. "Sweetie", (Ex-Mad Max), is a state-of-the-art shoal draft vessel who is as remarkable in her fit and finish as she is with her engineering and performance. Featuring bow and stern thrusters, a recent Garmin Electronics package, dinghy with Freedom Lift and 1,500 Lb. hydraulic assist deck crane.
