WITCH was built in 1929 by the Electric Launch Company (Elco) and her original longtime hail port was City Island, New York City. 

In 2014 then again in 2020-2023, she underwent an extensive shipyard refit that included new mechanical, electrical & plumbing systems, as well as hull and deck reinforcements, and discreetly placed modern amenities that do not compromise the historic integrity of the yacht. All the frames in WITCH are epoxy-laminated which are stronger than conventional steam bent oak frames with the addition of carbon fiber enforcement beams that discreetly run the entire length of the keel for support during marinaTravellift haulouts.  The entire bottom is cold-molded which makes WITCH strong, abrasion-resistant , maintenance-free and boring worm resistant. WITCH was awarded "Best Restoration to Original Design" at the prestigious Mystic Seaport Antique & Classic Boat Rendezvous.  During 2018-2021, all paint and varnish on WITCH was renewed by Shannon Boat's expert New England craftsmen and she looks as good if not better than she looked in 1929

WITCH's interior layout features two staterooms aft and crew quarters forward of the galley. The galley and crew quarters are separated from the staterooms by the wheelhouse and main salon. Therefore, even at just 50 feet in length, WITCH still uniquely offers privacy for owners who employ crew.
