2007 GB Eastbay 54 SX

Elegant Downeast styled Eastbay 54 SX “PARADOX” is an easy handling enclosed salon express cruiser with joystick, bow thruster, autopilot, trim tabs, and single lever helm controls for enhanced maneuverability and simple operation by a cruising couple. The upscale Grand Banks Eastbay sedan cruisers are known for their classic exquisitely matched teak interiors, top-line appliances, well-appointed living areas and accommodations, and no ladders to climb! Salon features an entertainment center with Bose surround sound, Vizio Smart TV and the KVH satellite system and comfortable seating around a cocktail/coffee table. The large cockpit can accommodate at table and deck chairs for cocktails and socializing. “PARADOX” features a convenient cockpit control station for backing down into a slip.

The Downeast style is based on the sturdy Maine lobster boats originating with Will Frost of Jonesport, Maine in the 1920s and later in 1947 to the Bunker & Ellis boatbuilding partnership in Southport, Maine. Positioned just forward of amidships, the low-slung pilothouse and cabin gave the vessel a lower center of gravity providing safety, comfort, and economy. The characteristic long sweeping sheerline and large open cockpit continue to inspire the Eastbay SX line. The Eastbay 54 SX’s hull is a proven seaworthy C. Raymond Hunt design “renowned for its seakeeping abilities – tracking well in waves and slop, offering comfort and stability in challenging conditions. And its 16ft beam created ample internal space for onboard living and storage for extended excursions.”

The Downeast style raised cabin’s rounded roof creates 6’5” headroom in the accommodations level that includes the galley on portside at bottom of companionway steps lobby area. Directly opposite is an L-shaped settee with adjustable/extendable table that can be used for dining or coffee table. The fully equipped galley is open above to the forward helm windows, allowing natural light to stream below like an atrium. The elegant staterooms with full en-suite heads have plenty of storage. The master suite is forward with a centerline queen berth. Guest stateroom features twin berths separated by a large teak cabinet. “PARADOX” is optimized for weekend getaways or extended coastal cruises, such as the Great Loop of eastern America; an excellent way to visit the nation’s beautiful, historical coastal cities and the Great Lakes area.

PARADOX - The owner is one of the most knowledgeable owners I have ever met in the industry. He has built 4 boats and is very detailed oriented. There is no finer rendition of a 54 GB SX Eastbay on the Planet. I have been the Project Manager and Captain of this boat for the last year while the refit was ongoing. The list of spare parts, filters, etc. will all be going with the vessel.
