The new Gulfstream Yachts 66, designed by industry-renown yacht architect Ward Setzer and Michael Peters Yacht Design, is the world’s largest center console boat. With the popularity of the Gulfstream 52 which was already a large enter-console, Setzer and team sought to build an even bigger model by an additional 14 feet. And with a flexible design platform to work with, owners of the new 66 can choose to build it in a walkaround sportfish flybridge version, sedan model, or a traditional center-console layout. And as with all Gulfstream Yacht models, the foam-filled construction of the hull makes the new 66 truly unsinkable and safe for your whole family.
All of the features that made the Gulfstream 52 so popular are on board, only enhanced due to the extra footage on the 66. The climate-controlled salon is even larger than the 52 and an additional stateroom has been added along with a dedicated tackle storage room and mezzanine seating inside the cockpit. In the salon on a nice day? Use the power windows to roll them down and enjoy the outside.
Owners of the 66 can choose a variety of power options including both outboard and inboard engines. The quad or quintuple outboard set up can be your choice of engine manufacturer or owners can choose twin inboards. Gulfstream Yachts had this to say about offering the choice of engine types, “We are indifferent as to which power option customers choose. The outboard option has been the most popular request from customers that plan to operate the boats themselves because they are more comfortable driving them than inboards and the outboards are easier to repair or replace, the shallower draft allows the boat to pull up closer to the beach or sandbar party, and they like the redundancy of the multiple outboards because their trips can continue without interruption if one of those motors should happen to experience a mechanical problem.” For more information on the Gulfstream Yachts 66 center-console, please contact your United Yacht Sales Professional today.
