United Yacht Sales is pleased to announce the sale of "BEGIN ANEW", a 2006 Marlow 72 Explorer, by professional yacht broker Mordy Miltz. Located for sale in West Palm Beach, Florida, BEGIN ANEW was only on the market for 3 months before coming under contract. The asking price of this Marlow 72 was $1,900,000 at the time of sale. Congratulations to all parties involved!

"I am very excited for my longtime clients that purchased this Marlow 72," said Mordy. "They are very seasoned boaters and have always dreamed of 'some day' owning a Marlow, in particular. I recently sold their 46-foot Winter custom sportfish so they could continue their plans looking for a cruising yacht they could take long distances and be comfortable. Fittingly, they plan to name their new boat "Someday Came."

All Marlow Yachts are built with some level of customization, however, this 72 Explorer was designed especially for David Marlow and has several interesting features. For example, this 72E has a beam two feet wider than any other 72 that was built around this model year. Combined with the comfortable ride due to the bulbous bow, cruising long distances is an enjoyable experience. Having been certified to Lloyds GMBH for Offshore Class One (Ocean Class) and with her efficient performance at a 9.5 knot cruise, the range of this Marlow 72 Explorer is more than enough to reach Bermuda from Florida's east coast AND come back.

Did we mention that BEGIN ANEW also won the 2006 'Yacht of The Year' award with Yachting Magazine? " My clients are ecstatic about getting on board and heading out on their first trip," continued Mordy. "They plan on cruising the Bahamas, as well as heading north to the New England area. I have also set them up with Spencer Christopher Yacht Management to assist in the service and maintenance of their boat."

(Below is a video when this 72 Explorer was called 'GRATITUDE' with a previous owner.)

Beginning aft, an upgraded 8-foot hydraulic swim platform was added post-build. The additional space allows for the transport of a larger tender, something that comes in handy when cruising the islands with your favorite guests. It also provides for a large area for water sports and a sunbathing platform right at the water's edge.

Boarding at the cockpit is also easy with the swim platform or through the side boarding doors. The beautiful teak cockpit is striking and provides a wonderful area to enjoy cocktails or dine al fresco. The aft deck is shaded from the flybridge overhead, there are speakers integrated throughout for entertainment, and it even has a custom BBQ grill with sink.

One of the challenges owners often face on a long-distance cruising boat or a trawler yacht, is moving from stern to bow while underway. The Marlow 72 is designed for such activities and features a wide side-deck with high railings for safety when moving about. Recessed lighting is overhead for walking your boat at night.

The foredeck on the Marlow 72 Explorer (below) features a Portuguese Bridge that provides extra safety when moving around the deck. A centerline door allows access to the forward most part of the bow where the dual Maxwell vertical windlass is located.

The flybridge on the Marlow 72 (below) takes full advantage of the vessel's 20' 2" beam and offers a variety of seating areas outdoors. The entire exterior of the flybridge is covered, providing a shaded area with which you can relax.

The command bridge is forward of the flybridge aft deck and is a beautiful, climate-controlled bridge that any captain would love to operate. Three large screened hatches in the hardtop can be opened along with the side aft doors for a beautiful sea breeze to enter the enclosed bridge. The main helm station is in the enclosed command bridge with a L-shaped electronics console (new Garmin electronics package 2016), pilot and co-pilot Stidd helm chairs, and twin L-settees with teak grate tables that are raised to allow for excellent visibility.

Stepping through the cockpit doors into the salon (below), you are greeted with a wide open space, large windows, and an array of woods and fabrics that delight the senses. Comfort is of the most important attributes on this Marlow so there are two Ultra-leather settees with a large, aviation-inspired coffee table that has built-in storage. Other features include multiple over-sized chairs, a flat screen television, a bar with a granite-countertop, full-size wine cooler, bookshelves, and an abundance of storage.

The galley is adjacent to the salon and is an open, country-style kitchen complete with all top end appliances needed to prepare a perfect meal for your guests. Massive amounts of storage, refrigeration, and freezer space makes those extended cruises possible without stopping for supplies. This particular Marlow 72 Explorer has a range that can reach Europe, so food storage is essential.

BEGIN ANEW, now SOMEDAY CAME, has a four-stateroom layout and additional crew quarters. The sleeping accommodations are accessed from the pilothouse just a few steps down the forward companionway. The master stateroom is full-beam and is located aft with a king center-line berth. His-and-hers heads and a large shared shower are en suite in the master cabin. The VIP guest stateroom is forward with king center-line berth as well, extensive storage, en suite head with a separate shower. The port guest stateroom has side-by-side twin berths, and a separate en suite head and shower. The starboard guest stateroom has a single day bed with ample storage underneath. Your guests will feel relaxed and rejuvenated while cruising on the Marlow 72.
