CNM Yachts For Sale

The acclaimed and awarded Mediterranean Shipyard, CNM (Cantieri Navali del Mediterraneo) was founded in 2003 by Roman entrepreneur, Salvatore d’Agostino, Director of H1 Holding Group, a leading Real Estate group with over 65 years of history in Real Estate Investment, Development, Construction, Management, and Consulting. Pursuing his passion for the sea and boating, Salvatore established the new brand of highly engineered, semi-custom open yachts at the eschelon of the market, when he was unable to find a suitably larger upgrade to his 54ft open. To ensure success, Salvatore put together a world-class team of experts—engineer, designers, naval architects, and shipbuilding manager to develop the first CNM Continental 80, a fast, planing cruiser that launched in 2006 to high acclaim. Designed by world-renowned naval engineer, Alberto Ascenzi, the Continental 80 set out to be at the pinnacle of the market—conceptually unique and unrivaled in performance and mega yacht luxury.

From its inception, CNM was based on ideals of innovation, elegance, service, and reliability to create a luxurious yacht for clients who appreciate and share CNM’s passion for “elegance on the water.” CNM produces only six to ten yachts annually to focus on quality and providing exceptional customer service, allowing each distinctive CNM yacht to be equipped and finished to each client’s personal preferences.

Reinterpreting the “yacht tender” concept to define an upscale day cruiser, CNM innovated a new series of CNM Continental open yachts ranging in length from the Continental 43 Tender, Continental 50, Continental 54, Continental 80, Continental 90, to the Continental 110. Five new designs are in the works: a Continental 33 Express, Continental 63, Continental 86, Limousine, and Navigator 90 Flybridge. The deck layout is maximized for outdoor enjoyment whether lounging, entertaining, or cruising the coasts and islands in elegant, understated luxury. Interior accommodations make weekend getaways and vacation voyages a truly pleasurable experience. One particular feature rarely found on a boat this size is the “floating floor” that is glued without screws onto an insulated aluminum shockproof frame that is a sound and vibration-damping system typically found in superyacht size vessels. CNM offers several layouts for each model that can be customized by the client.

Power options include Arneson Surface Drives (ASD) that was one of the fastest growing propulsion systems in the early 1980s, a system as revolutionary as the pod drive. The advantages of Arneson Surface Drives are multiple. They significantly improve fuel economy while lowering operating costs and are reliable. Built with fewer moving parts, they require less maintenance, and the surface piercing low drag design allows the engine to perform with great efficiency; in fact, it is the most efficient marine propulsion system in the world, reducing drag by 50%. A benefit of this drive is the ability to adjust propeller submergence while underway to match horsepower output; props are trimmable to various load and sea conditions.

ASD propellers ventilate to the surface rather then cavitate under the hull, reducing noise and destructive hull and prop erosion. And steering is by positive thrust of the propeller, like rack and pinion sports car steering performance, rather than thrusting off the rudder. Prop blades and a protective skeg are the only surfaces to contact the water, resulting in higher overall speed, quicker acceleration, and better payload to power ratio for efficient performance. Another benefit of this system is the ability to operate in shallow water, as it is mounted to the transom like a stern drive and extends aft, eliminating underwater appendages. The Arneson Surface Drive is adaptable to a wide range of engine applications, as bespoke by the client.

As a relatively new, limited production shipbuilder, not many preowned CNM yachts are available in the yacht brokerage MLS market. Only about half a dozen are currently available in the USA and Mediterranean area of Europe. CNM models range in price from a 52ft 2009 Continental 50 at about $780,000 to a 54ft 2022 Continental 54T at about $1,692,000.
