Grif grew up on Lake Erie, PA sparking a lifelong love of sailing and boating. Grif bought his first sailboat at 15 years old and at 19, he sailed his first transatlantic voyage, beginning a journey of extensive travel in the Mediterranean. His next adventure took him on a Feadship covering charters throughout the Caribbean.

Currently, besides being a broker for UYS, Grif is also the president of Yacht Management Professionals (YMP), a company dedicated to maintaining vessels the right way.
