A stretched version of the popular Durbeck 46 with more deck space and interior volume. Not known as a fast sailboat, but well known as a capable world cruising sailboat, with recent upgrades including new chain plates, hull paint, inverter and more, this 50 is ready to take you around the world to wherever you might choose. Built under the supervision of Wit Durbeck the Durbeck 50 is a traditional sailing vessel with a clipper bow and the wine glass stern, she will turn heads along any waterway. With a shallow draft of 5’ 5” and a full keel, she is well-constructed and capable of cruising the world in comfort and style.
If you are looking for a large, world class sailing vessel or excellent cruising or live aboard sailboat, don’t miss this one. The seller had a change of plans that dictates the sale.
You step aboard this amazing and visually pleasant sailing ketch through the port or starboard boarding gates that open onto the wide side decks. The large decks give you easy maneuverability. The cockpit is protected with a custom-built fiberglass hardtop with full Stamoid and eisenglass enclosure. The dodger is wood with opening windshield. The cockpit is large and has striped Sunbrella cushions for added comfort. Aft of the cockpit are two large storage boxes and a propane box. The stern has stainless steel davits for an inflatable or dingy.
You enter the cabin spaces through a teak opening door with sliding hatch. Down the companionway and to starboard is the large and functional galley area. The galley features ample storage and counter top spaces to please any on board chef. There is a dual voltage refrigerator with freezer compartment aft, and an in-the-counter cold plate refrigerator forward. Along the aft bulkhead to starboard is access into the large engine room which also houses the generator and a large work bench. At the companionway and to port is the navigation station with opening desk top, a settee with cushion, overhead book shelf and outboard storage and electronics. Aft of the navigation station is the companionway to the master cabin.
In the companionway along the port side is a large cabinet. The top opens and there are fore and aft doors revealing the laundry center. Outboard is a large storage cabinet as well. Across is the electrical panel and a lower hatch that opens to reveal the inboard aspects of the engine. Further aft are lockers for storage and the master cabin entry. The master is large with a center-line, walk-around elevated queen berth with storage drawers. Along each side of the berth is a night stand with storage. The port and starboard sides feature a large settee and additional lockers and storage. The head is located on the starboard side and is ensuite with a separate shower stall, tile flooring, multiple storage cabinets and vanity.
Back to the companionway and forward is the salon area with a large port side L-shaped settee and a large dinette table. Across from the settee are two chairs. Outboard in each side are storage shelves and a cabinet. Behind the chairs are additional cabinets. A TV is mounted on the forward starboard bulkhead.
Down one step and to port is the head with a vanity, mirror, and plenty of storage. Across from the head is a hanging locker. Further forward and through a privacy door is the guest cabin. To starboard is a single settee and storage locker with storage shelf above. The berths are along the port and starboard side with the starboard berth elevated with storage drawers and a cabinet below while to port side is lower. Excellent accommodations for your guests. All the way forward is access into the anchor locker.
A well laid out floor plan with plenty of room for a cruising couple, family cruising or a live aboard.
The galley is spacious and located along the starboard side aft of the main salon. With a straight view into the salon the onboard chef can easily communicate with the Captain and crew.
