2001 Grand Banks 42 Classic “Persystence” is a prime example of how a fine yacht should be kept! This vessel has been maintained in “show room” condition since day one, which is quickly apparent once stepping aboard. She has relative low hours (2,880) on her 435hp CAT 3208TA’s (an engine package which allows the boat to plane and cruise at a comfortable 16 knots when desired, but which is equally efficient as a smaller engine package while trawling); front enclosure with strataglass; premium bimini top with aft extension which covers entire flybridge and wind skirts, updated electronic package, water maker; very rare teak and holly sole (vs. the typical GB parquet); three burner propane stove top; custom electric winch on boom to launch dinghy; full protective canvas package which covers all exterior seating on the flybridge, the teak cap rail and teak transom, dinghy cover, windshield, flybridge cocktail table, engine room vents, v-berth hatch, winch cover, and port and starboard door covers with screens. Also included is a side power bow thruster, computation fuel and water tank gauges; upgraded ocean stainless steel reading lights throughout; 2 Pompanette helms chairs on flybridge in lieu of standard bench-style seating; high water alarm; engine room and aft facing cameras; engine block heaters; Seagull water purification system; washer/dryer unit; propane detector and alarm; and fresh and raw water wash downs at the bow. The yacht is offered complete with an AVON rigid inflatable dinghy and a Mercury 15 hp 4 stroke outboard; spare props; and a 3 zone Cruiser air conditioning system. “Persystence” is a must see!!

“Persystence” features the popular “L-Shaped” Galley, which offers additional cabinetry and counter space vs. the standard straight galley. This layout also allows for a large freezer, accessed from both the top and side. Perfect layout for serious cruising.

The design and layout of the Grand Banks 42’ Classic has made her one of the most popular and successful cruising yachts ever produced! “Persystence” is hull #1475 out of #1560 that were built over the years. The yacht offers a smooth ride, fuel efficient operation, excellent storage, a very livable cabin with 6’4” headroom, and beautiful classic lines.

The main cabin is accessed via one of the two side doors leading into the main salon and galley area. “Persystence” has the desirable “L-Shaped” Galley option to port, which offers more counter space and cabinet storage compared to the standard layout. To starboard is the lower helm station with a two-person bench-style seat. Aft to starboard is a large “L-Shaped” lounge with high/low teak table. Aft to port is a smaller settee with 2 gas assist hinged storage areas beneath, which was an upgraded option. There is also an insert which turns this settee into a single berth for a small person. The salon is tastefully decorated with neutral colors, and gives one the feeling of being on a brand new boat. Large windows all around the house (most with screens) allow for excellent visibility and really open up the space. Privacy is provided by custom curtains all around and a solid or mesh windshield cover forward.

The entire cabin boasts a Rare Beautiful Teak and Holly Sole (vs. the typical parquet) which has obviously been very well maintained. The finish is in excellent condition. The salon also features indirect lighting on both the port and starboard sides. In addition, the wall lighting throughout has been upgraded to stainless steel Cabin Denmark Ocean Lamps.

The guest stateroom is forward down three steps ahead of the galley. The space features a roomy v-berth, private head with shower, large hanging locker, and ample drawer storage. There is an overhead hatch and port light on both sides which provide natural lighting when desired.

Aft down three steps is the master stateroom which features a centerline queen berth, private shower with teak-grate floor to starboard, separate enclosed head with vanity and storage to port, overhead escape hatch, his and her bureaus to port and starboard, built in desk with seat to port, large hanging locker forward, and abundant natural lighting via port lights on both sides of the house.

The bridge deck includes 2 Pompanette chairs to starboard, a fore and aft facing double bench seat to port, and a starboard side L-Shaped settee with a custom high/low extended teak table. There is a strataglass flybridge front enclosure with a new full bimini and windskirts.
