    Manufacturers Description
The First 40.7 combines a sleek and sophisticated racer with all the comforts of a luxurious cruiser. Her Bruce Farr-designed hull and powerful rig provide excellent performance on the racecourse or in the harbor. The extra-roomy cockpit features removable lockers that provide more space and less weight for racing. Standard equipment includes tall fractional rigs, high-performance keels, and premium deck hardware.
Introduced in 1999 after 2 years in planning and development by Farr Yacht Design. The First 40.7 is a performance oriented family cruiser racer, featuring a relatively narrow entry forward to enhance upwind performance. The max beam is carried well aft with flat straight runs for good power off the wind. The hull is constructed of a solid laminate of fiberglass and resin utilizing higher cost vinylester resin. The end result is a hull and powerful rig that provides excellent performance on the racecourse, comfortable accommodations in the harbor and great sailing qualities all around.
The interior layout is conventional with a V-berth forward followed by a starboard head (accessible from either the salon or the V-berth) and a port hanging locker. In the main cabin there are mirror image settees with a drop-leaf centerline table followed by a small galley to port and a large navigation station to starboard. There are mirror image quarter berth cabins aft with double berths.
