SHILOH is an open bridge with hardtop model of the very successful Viking 65 Convertible that was in production from 1999-2005. In 2002, Viking added prop tunnels to the running bottom, improving efficiency and reducing the draft from 6’1” to 5’6”. The cushioned mezzanine observation deck was a Viking innovation in 2003; earlier models, such as SHILOH, were retrofitted with this great Viking feature that has under seat and lower-level compartments outfitted with freezers, refrigerators, tackle drawers, and more. Her 179 sq ft cockpit is completely clutter-free, with a center offset stanchion for a teak leaning post with rocket launcher array or teak table top plus four deck chairs to create a comfortable outdoor entertaining and socializing area. A custom sunshade extends from the aft bridge deck overhang and mounts onto two aluminum poles set in aft cockpit coaming rod holders. The spacious, shaded cockpit is perfect for relaxing with sunset cocktails, or transforms into a serious offshore fishing battle station. The Viking 65 Convertible sportfish was designed and built to perform as a durable, seaworthy tournament fishing yacht, with the speed and maneuverability of a responsive, smooth power-assisted steering system and powerful twin 1800 hp 2000 series DDC/MTU diesels. Another Viking design innovation are the cabin sides that taper toward aft end at midships, to channel air into the cockpit when underway, eliminating engine exhaust backdraft and keeping sea spray from coating the mezzanine and salon cockpit windows.

SHILOH was primarily enjoyed by her owners as a versatile cruising yacht, with her well-appointed and beautifully gloss-finished hand-fitted teak interior in the clean, open style Viking is known for. Storage is built into every available nook and cranny, including settees. Galley appliances are hidden below counter, in countertop, or in cabinetry, visually expanding the salon living area. Fully equipped for extended cruises or fishing trips, she features the standard 4 stateroom/4 head layout; forward VIP with queen berth, midships master with king berth, starboard side guest with over/under bunks, and a fourth stateroom that is a step down and aft of the master suite, with over/under bunks and direct engine room access, that could be used as crew quarters. Each has cedar-lined hanging closet or locker and a private head and shower.

Standard cockpit features include a large in-sole fish box, smaller in-sole compartment, refrigerated drink box in step to salon door, built-in tackle drawers, 4 flush mounted rod holders in the side coamings, and more. A centerline mezzanine seat hatch lifts for engine room access from cockpit. Owner could opt for other equipment, and many, such as SHILOH, have been updated and upgraded over the years of ownership.
