The model Viking 40 was built from 1974-1982. It was a major success with over 400 sold, the 40 was a major contribution to Viking's reputation as a quality builder. It is noted for its aggressive profile and rugged construction, large cockpit and interior. The Viking trademark steel engine mounts also were a significant improvement industry wide.
