The last marine survey on this boat, showed the engine ECM readouts showing 65% of the total engine hours were at less than 1000 rpm.  Given this, 29 Amberjack's use in Chesapeake Bay for "Rockfish" (aka Striped Bass) trolling at 2.2 knots, will add to the engine hours, but in this brokers opinion, not create a ton of wear on the motors.  Far more engines die prematurely from lack of use, or poor maintenance (allowing the exhaust to leak raw water back into the motor), not higher engine hours.  Ask a Waterman how many hours they get on their gas inboards on commercial boats.

It is always recommended to have a marine survey prior to purchasing a boat.
