SEQUOIA is a rare aft cockpit Hood designed Little Harbor 50 featuring three private cabins, a spacious main salon and oversized cockpit for comfortable cruising and entertaining. SEQUOIA sleeps six in three private cabins plus two in the main salon, with two heads and a stall shower. The interior is richly finished satin-varnished teak with solid trim, grab rails, raised-panel cabin doors, laminated teak and holly deck beams, and solid teak hull ceilings. Floorboards are varnished teak and holly with removable overhead panels secured by varnished teak trim. Bureau countertops are varnished teak with holly inlays.
Ample shelving, bookshelves and teak handholds are provided throughout. Full-length mirrors are provided in each stateroom, and all berths have lee cloths. All water and fuel tanks are located below cabin sole level, providing extensive storage area under seats and furniture throughout the interior.
Starting forward, a large forepeak locker accessed via a deck hatch accommodates anchor rodes, sails and assorted deck hardware. A solid bulkhead separates this area from the forward cabin. This oversized cabin offers a generous V-berth with filler, a seat with vanity to port and a
hanging locker with bureau to starboard. There are also additional drawers below the berths and aircraft-style lockers above each berth. A large deck hatch and deck prisms provide great ventilation and light.
Aft and to starboard is a guest cabin with upper and lower berths, hanging locker, bureau and lockers above each berth. An opening porthole, deck hatch and prism provide ventilation and light.
To port is a head shared by each cabin featuring electric flush toilet, a porcelain sink vanity with Corian counters, mirror, varnished teak floor grate and opening hatch and porthole for ventilation. Aft of the head is a shower stall with teak seat, varnished teak floor grate and locker outboard.
The full-beam main salon features an L-shaped settee to starboard with large centerline settee with beautiful starburst pattern dining table highlighted by inlays and fold-up table leaves. There are cabinetry and shelves outboard, with a bureau and more shelving on the forward bulkhead. To port is a full-length settee with cabinetry and shelving outboard. Multiple opening portholes, dorade vents and deck hatches make this central living area light and airy.

Further aft of the galley is the nav station conveniently located adjacent to the companionway. There is a dedicated seat with backrest, generous chart table and direct access to the navigation systems and electrical switch panels.
Opposite to port is the third cabin with twin berths, bureaus, hanging locker, numerous storage lockers and a vanity sink with mirror. Three opening portholes and a deck hatch keep this cabin well-lit and ventilated. The second head is adjacent withy electric toilet, varnished teak grate and shower.
The yacht's DC electrical supply is 12 Volt, supplied by three independent battery systems: House batteries - (4) 6 Volt in series/parallel for 524 amp hrs total; Engine battery - (1) 12 Volt 8D; Generator battery - (1) 12 Volt.
A 130 amp engine alternator charges the house batteries and a second 55 amp alternator charges engine batteries. Alternatively, all batteries may be charged by a 110 Volt AC Heart Freedom 2500-watt battery charger/inverter run off the generator or shore power. GFIC waterproof 12 Volt outlets are located at the steering pedestal and nav station.
The yacht's AC electrical system is 110 Volt/60 cycle. AC power is supplied by a 50 amp shore power inlet with 50 amp cords and 30/50 adapter. A Mastervolt Whisper 7 kW generator (350 hours) and the inverter also supply AC power. AC functions include: Water heater, refrigeration, electrical outlets, air conditioning, A/C outlets and GFIC waterproof AC outlets in heads and galley.
All ship’s wiring is tinned copper wire and is run in a PVC conduit system from bow to stern. All wires are color coded and numbered for easy identification.
The main switch panel is located outboard of the nav station and includes: DC and AC branch circuit breakers with backlighting, battery test meters, reverse-polarity indicators, DC and AC voltage and load current meters, DC and AC voltage and amp meters.
Engine, rudderpost, mast step, chain plates and seacocks are grounded to a 6" copper strap, glassed to hull running from bow to stern on both sides of hull. A copper screen is glassed into the hull for radio antenna grounding. A separate grounding bar is installed for electronics.
The hull is molded in GRP from female molds with 3/4" Airex foam core for added strength and sound/thermal insulation. Airex core material is eliminated in areas of sheer line, centerline, ballast, rudderpost, hull ports and through-hulls, with solid GRP lay-up in these areas. Molded fiberglass fuel and water tanks and centerboard trunk with internal cast lead ballast. There is a painted teak rub rail with stainless steel striker for topside protection in docking situations.
The deck is hand-laid teak over GRP, with Divinycell H-80 foam core for strength and stiffness. In areas where deck equipment is installed, core is replaced with Divinycell H-200 high-density foam. Outer skin is built to 1/4" thickness, inner skin to 3/16". Cockpit sides and coaming are solid fiberglass. Deck flange is solid glass to approximately 3/8" thickness. The deck is bonded with epoxy putty to the inboard angled hull flange and bolted with 5/16" bolts on 8" centers. Additional fastenings are provided with a teak toe rail through-bolted on 8" centers. All deck hatch landings are molded in GRP. The propane locker is molded separately into the cockpit combing and ventilated with direct drain overboard.
The rudder blade was new in 2017 and is molded around a stainless steel frame welded to the rudderstock and supported by upper and lower bearings (also new 2017). A bronze stuffing box is provided with Teflon impregnated packing. The weighted centerboard is molded GRP with a bronze shoe. Centerboard configuration offers minimum draft of 5' – 10” with board up and a maximum draft of 11’ – 6” with board down.
Hull finish is Awlgrip Flag Blue with gold cove stripe, double white boot and green bottom. Cabin house and cockpit area is white with light tan non-skid.
