ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

CAROLINA is a 1984 Island Trader 40' Motorsailer with model bow, displacement hull and square transom. She has a white hull and off white decks, and a sloop rigged pilothouse motorsailer.

On deck at bow working aft is a sprit with teak pulpit followed by foredeck with windlasses and Samson post, butterfly hatch next aft followed by stainless steel tabernacle, then pilot house rises and continues aft to cockpit, bimini overhead at cockpit, companionway below center forward cockpit, lazarette center to genset space with steering gear and fixed fire system, raised teak rail surround cockpit, helm station starboard forward cockpit, stowage below wrap-around seating with propane locker port side aft, davit and backstays assembly mounted to transom with tender and swim platform below.

Below decks forward is private stateroom with double berth center, companionway aft leads to enclosed head to starboard and galley to port, main breaker panel starboard companionway at steps, up steps to open main cabin with helm station to starboard and dinette to port, engine room access center sole.

Engine space has fuel tanks outboard port and starboard, engine inboard center, fixed fire system center forward bulkhead, battery charger and batteries forward to port, fuel polishing set up center to port and water heater aft to port.

MECHANICAL

One (1) American Diesel 6.2NA 6 cylinder, 139HP, heat exchanger cooled diesel engine, serial #2L27A07R, with Borg Warner reverse/reduction gear.  

16,500 BTU Mermaid AC serving cabin, galley and stateroom - fully operational.

Force 10 propane heater in stateroom fully operational with automatic cutoff when oxygen depleted.

Engine was new in 2004.

FUEL

(6) Aluminum diesel fuel tanks totaling 300 gallons, (3) located each side outboard port and starboard engine space with fuel fills in side decks and tank equalization fittings and hoses at tank bases.

NAVIGATION

Compass: (2) Ritchie compasses, one at each helm station.

Electronics: (1) Northstar Explorer 350GPS, Datamarine depth sounder, (2) Hummingbird Wide 100 depth sounders, Garmin GPS 128,GPSmap 741xs GPS chartplotter with Garmin HD enclosed array radar scanner.

Autopilot: Wagner Engineering micropilot with pump.

WINDLASS

Lewmar ProFish 1000 electric windless, Simpson Lawrence manual windless.

RIGGING AND SAILS

Lewmar speed winches located cabin top starboard and port and starboard mast, two Lewmar #40 2-speed starboard outboard forward cockpit.

Single spreader, deck-stepped aluminum mast and boom, masthead sloop rigged with split backstay.
