Joystick Control

UNBROKEN is one of only three Mark II Talaria 55’s built to date by the Hinckley Company. The MKII model features many improvements including a fresh cockpit layout, powered sliding pilothouse windows with concealed stainless steel frames, powered overhead hatches in the pilothouse, larger heads and showers, and Hinckley PalmStick (wireless remote control for a JetStick®, along with many other nice improvements.

Unbroken was built by an experienced Hinckley owner who empowered the Hinckley team to build a very special boat. She had been used lightly in the winter and stored inside in the summer. Throughout her short life, Unbroken has been maintained exclusively by the Hinckley Yacht Services team and has been significantly upgraded with the addition of a Seakeeper 9 gyro stabilizer, a new 20KW generator, and automatic trim tabs. With only 710 hours on her Caterpillar engines and 722 hrs on her recent generator, Unbroken is  ready for many years of adventuring.

Hull:  Hinckley DualGuard® Composite Construction- Kevlar®/E-glass outer skin. Aircraft grade end grain balsa below the waterline. Carbon fiber inner skin. Laminated with Vinylester resin using Seaman Composite Resin Infusion Molding Process (SCRIMP®).

Deck: E-glass outer and inner skin with aircraft grade end grain balsa and closed cell foam core - laminated with Vinylester resin using Seaman Composite Resin Infusion Molding Process (SCRIMP®).

These materials and building techniques provide for a superior surface finish, greater resistance to osmosis, high degree of stiffness & stiffness/weight ratios, and greater hull strength against impact damage and thermal insulation.

  • Non-metallic composite thru-hull fittings with ball valve seacocks are below waterline and above the waterline where appropriate. Bronze seacocks, thru-hull fittings and sea strainers on propulsion engines.
  • Rub rail has stainless steel half-round on fiberglass molding.
  • Swim Platform:  Oversized swim platform painted to match hull color with teak decking and stainless steel half round. Swim platform lowers hydraulically to launch dinghy, provide access for scuba diving, and is wonderful for swimming as platform can be lowered various levels in the water. Also can transform to a passarelle making reaching hard to access fixed piers with ease.
