2003 Hatteras 75 Sport Deck Motor Yacht
The Hatteras 75 Sport Deck Motor Yacht is a sistership model to the Hatteras 75 Cockpit Motor Yacht produced from 2000 to 2005, with the main difference being the cockpit was eliminated for a stern "sport deck" integrated with the swim platform for launching water toys or easy boarding from a tender. A watertight door in transom leads to the large (full beam), well organized Hatteras engine room. Curved molded steps on starboard side lead up from the sport deck to the exterior aft deck, shaded by the bridge overhang, an ideal spot for al fresco dining. Aft bulkhead glass sliders open up to the main salon and expand the main deck entertaining area to include the aft deck, and provide an unobstructed view from the lower helm wheelhouse to the stern. The stainless-steel frame is securely embedded into 6" thick fiberglass. The aft full beam master cabin, enlarged by eliminating the cockpit, enjoys complete privacy with separate stairwell access from the salon. The four additional staterooms are accessed from the forward wheelhouse staircase and feature two VIP suites--a full beam ensuite queen berth stateroom midships and a forepeak ensuite stateroom with centerline queen berth. A new feature of the Hatteras 75 Sport Deck and Cockpit models, both widebody 18'2" beam motoryachts, was extending the flybridge sides out to the edge of the vessel, creating a massive bridge area capable of entertaining a crowd, with keyhole shaped wet bar, barstools, and plenty of seating under the bimini top shade. Bridge aft deck stores the tender with davit for launching/retrieving. Most, if not all, Hatteras motoryachts have been customized in some way by their owners, and this 75 Sport Deck is no exception. Notably, the radar arch hydraulically lowers to under 20' air height for Great Loop bridge clearance. Power hydraulic steering and huge six-blade props with .87 blade ratio and a 4.36:1 gear ratio make handling responsive, whether throttling up or down, and turning. Cleats are easily accessed from wheelhouse side doors. Helm and deck layouts make it possible for a small crew to operate her, including an experienced couple.
2003 Hatteras Motor Yacht Sport Deck
This Hatteras 75 Sport Deck model is just a great all around boat. This yacht has been really well-maintained. For sale by the original owner. This 75 Hatteras motor yacht gets inspected every season before launch and any issues corrected. A hydraulic lowering radar arch reduces your height clearance to under 20 feet. This Hatteras 75 Sport Deck motor yacht has completed the “great loop” twice. The first half of its life, summers were spent in Michigan. Florida in the winters. The past several years the yacht has been stored indoors for the summer season in Florida. With almost 5,000 hours -- a check of the engine computer shows almost half of the engine hours were at idle or just above. The seller of this yacht is an interior designer. There were a lot of interior items added at the factory per the owner when the boat was new. Window treatments, fluted wood trim in the salon, crystal light fixtures, gold water faucets, and more. This is not your typical Hatteras motoryacht. Boat is kept ready to use at on a moments notice by a very capable Captain and his wife.
Five Cabins / Five Heads:
Mid level day head to starboard. Washer and dryer are in companion way up to the lower helm area/pilothouse. Aft of the pilothouse is the full galley. Across from the galley to port is the bar/settee with stools. Aft of the galley is the salon. Aft of the salon is the aft deck area. There are spiral stairs to starboard to access the sport deck area (stern swim/boarding platform).
Aft Guest Stateroom:
Just forward of the main cabin (Usually gets claimed by the wife as a powder and make up room).
Mid Ship VIP Stateroom:
Mid Ship, Mid Level Guest Stateroom:
Forward VIP Stateroom:
The spacious Flybridge is large enough for the whole crew. A lot of open floor space. Plenty of cushioned bench seating with storage underneath.
Wheel House Electronics:
This yacht has a hydraulic folding radar arch. Once lowered the height clearance is under 20 feet. This yacht has done the great loop twice. With 4,984 hours, 2,684 were at idle or just above.
Naiad stabilizer system reconditioned. New seals, bearings, one shaft. Hydraulic cylinders reconditioned. Hydraulic lines replaced.
All items from recent out-of-water insurance survey have been completed.
New stainless rudders with seals, bearings and related hardware 2022.
Caterpillar 3412 1400 hp engines. 4,950 hours. 2,600 hours at or close to idle. Boat has been run on its own bottom to Michigan several times and made the great loop trip twice.
These engines have antifreeze cooled after coolers. Not the problematic sea water cooled aftercoolers found in the higher horse power engines.
Generator Room. Located Mid Ship:
Out-of-water insurance survey was done on this yacht in 2021. This wasn't done for sale purposes. The owners had no intentions of selling. But then life happens and things change.
During my 40 years of buying and selling clients' yachts, one basic principle comes into play every time. There are some people you do not want to buy used things from and some people you do. Wish I could keep this yacht!
What it still needs:
All of the Hatteras 75 MY's in 2000 to 2003 needed to be repainted. This paint has been maintained and touched. up. Shows well, but like all the others, eventually will need to be repainted.
Seller has priced this boat to sell it, not just to look at.
