52' Gulf Crosser 2020 Custom Center Console
Introduced in 2018, the Gulf Crosser 52 Center Console was envisioned and built as a crossover between a center console fishing boat and enclosed cabin sportfish yacht by Hunter “Hunt” James, founder of Gulf Stream Yachts. Gulf Stream was rebranded as Gulf Crosser Yachts in 2021 to reflect a growing global market for center consoles specifically engineered for the rigors of fishing in challenging waters whether the Gulf Stream or Gulf of Mexico and elsewhere. Award-winning naval architects, Ward Seltzer and Michael Peters, patent-holder of the SVVT hull technology (stepped-V ventilated tunnel) collaborated with Hunt James to design this unique enclosed center console high-performance fishing boat. Safety features abound with the signature foam-filled construction techniques to make the boat unsinkable, high gunnel sides, 3-piece construction for toe kick space, wide side decks, single level main deck from bow to stern, and the wide non-skid gunwales and bow allow anglers a platform to reel in a catch. Deep-V hull with classic Carolina flare, sharp entry bow, and graceful “S” sheerline are sportfish features for slicing through head seas and keeping the bow dry.
The enclosed pilothouse and aft salon surrounded by SmartGlass (electric switchable glass—a technology that applies voltage to glass the change opacity) eliminates the need for curtains or other window treatments for privacy, while providing 360o natural light and panoramic views for helmsman and guests in air-conditioned, weather independent comfort. Another advantage of SmartGlass is the ability to project movies and streaming TV shows onto the aft salon’s electrically actuated window with the Epson Home Cinema 1450 projector! Port and starboard side doors allow easy access to the side decks. The 2020 Gulf Crosser 52 sports a marlin tower mounted directly on the hardtop with helm and helm chair with easy access from the huge cockpit via a few molded steps and a short ladder. The tower provides a height advantage over deck-level fishing with the ability to spot fish on the surface.
