78' Fairline Squadron 2014
Naval architecture and exterior design of the Fairline 78 Squadron luxury motor yacht were provided by the award-winning studio of Bernard Olesinski. The interior was designed by Fairline’s in-house design team in sync with the Olesinski design philosophy of form follows function and good design is turning a complex product into a simple, elegant solution. Since 1972, Olesinski has gained international appreciation for creating some of the world’s most elegant yachts with flawless seakeeping and hull efficiency, including the Fairline 78 Squadron. “OCHO UNO” launched in 2014, is designed for the ultimate in luxurious living and entertaining style comparable to a posh high-end residence. Exterior and interior areas are large and spacious, featuring exquisite designer details that are comfortable, not fussy. Large deckhouse and hullside windows let in lots of natural light and provide panoramic views. Seating and tables are designed for maximum flexibility of function and enjoyment. Premium materials such as exotic woods, hand selected granites, top brand appliances, fixtures, hardware, furnishings, and more, exude the bespoke look of a luxury megayacht, a level of luxury Fairline is known for.
Fairline was founded in 1963 by Jack Newington in Oundle, Northamptonshire, England, when he built the Oundle Marina on the River Nene. The first Fairline, a 19’ handcrafted fiberglass river cruiser, was launched in 1967. During the 1980s Fairline developed its line of high-speed cruising yachts and was awarded The Queen’s Award for Enterprise—International Trade. The Squadron model was first launched in 1990 with a 62-footer, and the immensely successful Squadron 78 was manufactured by Fairline from 2003 to 2018 for a total of 115 yachts produced! Today, Fairline, under new ownership, has been renamed Fairline Yachts Ltd, and continues to manufacture the Squadron model, ranging from 50’ to 68’, along with three other lines. Fairline’s designers worked with owners to realize their preferences and optional choices, making each 78 Squadron a semi-custom yacht. OCHO UNO features the optional twin 1622hp CAT C32 power package along with many other upgrades.
"Ocho Uno 81" is equipped for relaxing and entertaining on a grand scale. Her huge and commanding flybridge gives the first clue to this remarkable yacht's sociable intentions.
Large, spacious entertaining areas are in evidence throughout the extensive saloon and upper deck areas, through to the private staterooms, where light and space are combined to stunning effect. All are created using only the very finest materials, including exotic woods, hand-selected granite work surfaces, and state-of-the-art design features.
