Hull Construction:

Completely hand laminated (no chop) to assure consistent application of fiberglass layers. Optimum strength-to-weigh ratio is achieved through the exclusive use of knitted (not woven) biaxial and triaxial fiberglass reinforcing fabrics.  Hull sides and transom are cored with 3/4 “ end-grain balsa.

Built from one piece mold provides a strong and monolithic structure.

Solid glass laminate “backbone” and keel stictions offer maximum strength at critical areas.

Structural grid system of triaxial fiberglass encapsulated urethane foam “floors and stringers” assures a rigid underbody, while reinforcing for mast and keel loading.

Massive stainless steel chainplates are constructed by Navtec tie rod system to stainless steel spider plates embedded by hand lamination into the hull structure for optimum load distribution.

Deck Construction:

Made lighter and stronger through the use of biaxial fiberglass materials and balsa coring.   Plywood coring used only as necessary where compression strength is needed for through bolting hardware.

Deck/Hull Joint:

“Return” flange construction, in monolithic construction offers rigid hull shapes and the ultimate strength in hull to deck joining technique.

Deck is epoxy bonded to hull flange and through-bolted every 8” with stainless steel machine bolts. Water tight integrity is assured by surrounding the deck/hull jouint with 3M-5200 as a bedding for the teak bulwark cab and rub strake.

Rudder Construction:

The rudder is molded as a single piece of solid high density foam with a protective skin of fiberglass and a gelcoat finish.  The foam material is of high strength structural grade and has exceptional toughness.  The rudder post, molded integrally inside rudder, is solid stainless steel, which is welded to a steel blade in the interior of the rudder.
