The 2015 Dixon 55’ 55 Downeast Kill Shot is a single screw, semi-displacement hull Downeast fishing vessel powered by a Caterpillar C-18 1000 HP engine. The 55’ Dixon’s hull is a modified V design with single rounded chine, raked stern. Bulwarks are 28" high. Closed stern has a removable tuna door. The forward pilothouse is of a traditional North East design. There are 5 forward facing, four side and four aft windows in aluminum frames. The interior is laid out with forecastle accommodations including head, separate shower stall and flush toilet with holding tank. Killshot’s heated and air conditioned upper pilothouse contains a large convertible galley table and a galley full of modern appliances. Ample storage lockers along with sound reducing materials are evidenced throughout . The navigation/steering console is located on the starboard side with a pedestal mounted pilot chair and a second steering station equipped with a hydraulic line hauler is aft of the pilothouse on the starboard side
The 2015 Dixon 55’ 55 Downeast is properly equipped for its intended purpose of pelagic commercial fishing. 47' Greenstick Rupp outriggers, an aluminum mast and boom and a hydraulic Rotzlet winch. This Dixon 55’ is equipped with a 1 ton ice maker and chiller brine tank. Vessel is divided into 4 watertight compartments. The 2015 Dixon 55’ 55 Downeast Kill Shot’s hull is molded with laminated longitudinal stiffeners and cored transvers bulkheads making for a very strong hull.
