Specifications
The Cabo 48 Flybridge offers all the goods for anglers who seek the ideal platform for blue water fishing. The cockpit is huge, and placement of the essentials - bait freezer, bait tank, tackle drawers, and rigging station - is well planned. Huge fish boxes are molded into the cockpit sole and equipped with in-line macerators, full-length piano hinges, and gas struts. Don’t fish? No worries.
The huge cockpit is a great place to launch other water activities or to relax, entertain and enjoy the view.
Entering the salon from the huge cockpit, you can immediately see why Cabo is known for superior fit and finish. The teak cabinetry and fine woodwork, with its carefully matched grain, flows seamlessly throughout the main cabin and forward into the staterooms and heads. Designer fabrics and coverings from the valances and the seating to the spreads and throw pillows are beautifully complimentary of the teak cabinetry. Blinds and lighting are recessed but very functional. On the port side you will find the L-shaped ultra-leather sofa and beautiful birdseye maple and teak-trimmed coffee table. Opposite is the AC/DC distribution panel which is beautifully integrated into Cabo's signature teak cabinetry with its satin finish and integrated grillwork. Forward on the starboard side is the dinette with custom table and seating with storage under. A new built-in 50-inch flat-screen television is positioned forward. The original owner elected the teak-and-holly sole option with removable carpet.
Forward of the salon to port, and opposite the dinette, is a U-shaped galley with Corian countertops in Mojave. There are four Sub-Zero drawer-type refrigerators/freezers below the dividing counter, additional appliances and large amounts of storage including cabinets with pull-out shelves, deep drawers and a huge in floor storage compartment.
Proceeding forward down the companionway, you find the guest stateroom on the starboard side with upper and lower single berths and the laundry center. The amidships master stateroom is on the port side with queen berth, ensuite head with stall shower, entertainment system and custom décor. Continuing forward is the VIP guest stateroom with queen berth and private access to the guest head. The guest head is also accessible from the companionway.
The flybridge has a custom hardtop and four sided Strataglass enclosure. It has pedestal ladder back helm and companion chairs, with bench seating adjacent to and forward of the helm console. There is pod-style control station with single-lever electronic controls; there are several large displays and a complete line-up of electronics and engine monitoring systems.
The salon has ample room and seating to entertain guests and family in comfort and style. Features include entertainment center with Bose surround sound, new 50-inch TV, SAT TV and ice maker. Big windows allow abundant natural light with silhouette shades for privacy.
The galley has under-counter refrigeration, and the dinette is an arm's length away. There is plenty of storage for long periods offshore.
The mid-ship master stateroom has a queen berth and a private head with a stall shower.
The Cabo 48's flybridge is big and functional with good sight-lines front, back and all around. The ladder to the bridge is both utilitarian and safe - and it is easy to descend facing either forward or aft. The custom hardtop with brushed pipe support structure has a three-sided enclosure with vents and an aft curtain with U-Zip. The aft bridge rail incorporates a rocket-launcher for six rods. It has adjustable pedestal helm and companion chairs, with bench seating adjacent to and forward of the helm console. The pod-style control station features single-lever electronic controls which are interfaced with a Glendinning electronic control system.
The electronics console accommodates several large displays with space for instruments, panels and accessories with all electronics integrated seamlessly. There are MAN Marine Diesel display monitors and Glendenning’s electronic control displays.
The forward cockpit bulkhead supports the rigging area with tackle storage, drawers, prep sink, and the optional bait freezer, neatly molded to incorporate the engine room access door with no break in continuity. There is a transom live well with optional window, fresh and saltwater wash-downs and padded bolsters surround the cockpit. There are two substantial in-sole fish boxes with macerators, full-length piano hinges, gas struts and rubber sealing gaskets. At 144 square feet, the cockpit has room for a full-size fighting chair with a pedestal reinforcement molded into the sole. There is a cockpit sunshade.
The engine room that houses the Twin MAN 1100HP Diesels and other mechanical and electrical equipment is easy to access and well-engineered. Surfaces are finished with white gelcoat for ease of cleanup and long-lasting durability. Engines and Gen received normal servicing in January 2021. Recent engines services include heat exchangers and intercoolers removed and serviced, new raw water pump for both engines, and new exhaust riser for starboard engine. Detailed records are available.
The wire looming on the backside of her electrical panels is very impressive. The upgraded 15kw generator is fitted with a custom sound shield, and gaining access requires removing two quick-release pins that secure the engine room's access ladder.
The bottom was freshly painted August 2021. At the same time, new cutlass bearings and shaft seals were installed. Plus the props were reconditioned and Prop Speed applied.
