105' Broward 1993
Broward Marine was founded in 1948 with the purchase of a Fort Lauderdale shipyard that had been a defense contractor during WWII, and was ideally set-up to build 144' wooden minesweeper vessels for the US Navy and NATO ally, Royal Dutch Navy. After the Korean War ended, Broward Marine shifted focus to building custom yachts and developed a reputation for building the finest yachts for the world's most prestigious yachtsmen. Launched in 1953, the first custom wooden motor yacht, "Stormy III," was designed by consulting naval architect, John H. Wells, who also designed the 96'6" wooden yacht currently named "Miss Kira," launched in 1957, shortly before his passing in 1962. "Demand the Finest" became Broward Marine's slogan as the shipbuilder became known for consistently delivering seakindly, seaworthy, efficient and aesthetically pleasing yachts. Broward Marine was the first to develop the specialized design firm, Yacht Interiors, in response to the trend for more of clients' upscale lifestyle to be reflected in their yachts. Among Broward Marine's firsts are the "country kitchen" galley first introduced in the 1980s and wood was abandoned for aluminum hull and superstructure construction in the early 1970s.
STELLA MARIS features the Broward Marine semi-displacement hull with distinctive raised pilothouse and forward main deck master cabin design. Broward Marine's exterior design maximized the enjoyment of sun and sea with multiple areas for lounging, dining, and entertaining. Professional interior design by Robert M Farinacci features beautiful cherrywood joinery and granite counters. Redundant systems, mechanical equipment, navigation and communications electronics, plenty of stowage, and more, make STELLA MARIS ideal for cruising to remote ports or charter operations.
"STELLA MARIS" represents a 105' x 23' beam Series Broward offering spacious deck spaces, great interior volume along with her five staterooms accommodating ten guests plus crew quarters. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer spectacular views and her custom interior designed with cherry wood, granite throughout along with a formal dining area for ten.
