From spoon bow to gently sloped transom, the design elements of the Back Cove 29 speak to her Maine lobster boat heritage. Yet below the surface is a modern Deep-V hull just waiting for her owner to push the throttle forward and to jump up onto plane. With ample room in her cockpit and comfortable amenities below, she is a yacht that will give her owners years of pleasure and immense pride of ownership, at a cost which is considerably lower than for custom boats of this type. Launched at the Newport International Boat Show in the fall of 2003, Back Cove 29s have received critical acclaim from both the yachting press and discriminating owners. In excellent condition with ALGRIP Flag Blue hull paint this is the one to see!
Original owner has all maintenance and invoices and logs. The hull was repainted in 2012 and shows like new. Excellent opportunity for her new owner!
The hull design incorporates a "prop pocket" which achieves a draft of 30". Vinyl ester resins were used in the laminate layup as a hedge against osmotic blistering. There is closed cell foam core vacuum bagged in the running surfaces and there are encapsulated foam stringers to add reinforcement to the hull.
A beautiful boat which offers easy boarding. Step over into the cockpit and your onboard! There are built-in side steps on the port and starboard sides of the cockpit which allow easy access to the 18” wide side decks. Along the cabin top are stainless steel handrails and the side rails are high offering safety to the bow and around the boat exterior. Back to the cockpit there is aft seating and a large storage lazarette. Forward is the helm deck protected by a hard top and hard side enclosure with an aft Sunbrella curtain. The helm deck is large with a “L” shaped settee to port with a storage area under the center seat for a cooler. The Todd helm and companion seats are elevated on a storage cabinet. The helm offers excellent visibility and all gauges and instruments ate within easy reach. The helm area side windows slide open and there are two overhead hatches and the center windshield has an opening as well. A large centered hatch opens to the engine compartment. Access into the cabin is thru a wood bi-fold door. Down two steps you enter the cabin. Immediately to port is the galley and on the aft bulkhead above the galley is the electrical panel. Across from the galley is the head with shower, electric toilet and large vanity. Forward of the head is a cedar-lined hanging locker. The salon features a V-Shaped port and starboard settees with a high/low table in between that converts into a berth. Teak and holly flooring and beautiful Cherry woodwork give a warmth and appeal to the cabin.
The galley is to port with quick access to companionway steps and offers space for meal preparation and storage. The dual voltage refrigerator is installed under the counter, as well as a stainless sink with hot and cold pressure water. Lockers and drawers are provided for stores.
The electrical panel is located along the aft bulkhead of the port salon.
All helm electronics are within easy reach and visibility from the helm seat.
Helm deck hatch opens to reveal a large engine compartment with plenty of room for easy maintenance and fluid checks.
The hardtop version of the Back Cove 29 offers full helm deck enclosure with opening center windshield and sliding side windows.
