2006 Azimut 68 Sport
The striking exterior design of the Azimut 68 Sport express yacht is by the legendary Italian architect and yacht designer, Stefano Righini, who worked extensively with Azimut-Benetti, and was described by Azimut Yachts as “…one of the greatest geniuses and innovators in the world of yachting.” One of his design innovations is the transition from small portholes to large hullside windows, bringing more light into belowdecks accommodations—a feature taken for granted today. The Azimut 68S features a distinctive 3x3 set of rectangular window panels effectively giving the amidships owner’s cabin a large picture window for lots of natural light and superb views. Another great innovation is the enormous sunroof that opens up 65 sq ft of the hardtop and deck salon to the sky. Sliding panels fold and neatly stack accordion-style, tucked away behind the radar arch. The teak cockpit, shaded by a retractable sunshade, features a table and chairs for outdoor dining and expands the entertainment area when the 4-glass panel sliders are open to the salon.
Azimut has included some very high-tech features in the 68 Sport such as the computer-controlled joysticks that interface thrusters with the main engines for easier maneuvering and docking. The 68S is loaded with highly functional technology and the excellent interior design of renowned Italian superyacht interior designer, Carlo Galeazzi, to make “ARTISTIC” a pleasure to run at full-speed or cruise to enjoy sun and sea with family and friends.
An extremely nice example of Azimut's most beautiful profiles, the 68 Sport. With significant upgrades during this owner's 7 years of tenure, including an AwlGrip painted hull, two thousand hour MAN service, updated electronics, new dinghy, painted engine room, new cutlass bearings, shaft seals, sun screens, interior and exterior cushions and fabrics, rebuilt pasarelle, new underwater lights and the list goes on.
