The Azimut 55 Sport’s carbon fiber structure with triple Volvo Penta IPS600 pod drive engines, delivers the agile performance expected of this sleek, sporty looking express yacht, capable of 36 knot top speed for a thrilling ride! Designed to maximize enjoyment of the cruising experience, the 55 Sport’s exterior styling and concept is by legendary naval architect, Stefano Righini. The smaller, 3ft shorter IPS600 engines are installed further aft for a notably quiet interior, in addition to adding hull volume and space above for the tender garage—definite advantages in a 55ft sportcruiser!

The Euro-transom features a hydraulic stern swim platform that swings down to reveal the tender garage door and transform the stern platform into a waterline beach club deck. Guests can sun, swim, dive, snorkel, launch a tender or water toys from this versatile area. Teak covered molded steps on both sides of the transom, lead to the gated side decks. Port side deck leads directly to the bow and secluded foredeck lounge area with a huge 3-person sunpad and forward facing 3-person settee, and a crossover walkway between them. A hatch near bow provides access the crew quarters with pullman berth, shower, head, sink and stowage or used for storage if not needed. A sturdy safety railing extends from bow to cockpit along side decks.

The starboard side transom steps lead to the cockpit/aft deck with a huge L-shaped settee along portside and transom with a dual pedestal table that electronically lowers to transform settee into a giant sunbed for relaxing/sunning. A retractable sunshade awning extends from the aft edge of the hardtop extension to shade the entire cockpit, if desired. An electric grill and wet bar console with Vitrifrigo icemaker and proximity to the starboard galley make the aft deck ideal for dining and entertaining, especially when the salon main deck sliders are opened to expand the main deck to one huge living area.

The luxurious interior features the versatile, functional, and comfortable design of award-winning Italian designer, Carlo Galeazzi, whose studio has worked with Azimut since 1994. The streamlined “hideaway” galley is fully functional with undercounter refrigerator, freezer, microwave oven, storage cabinets, stainless steel sink, and Miehle 4-burner ceramic glass cooktop—covered when not in use. The salon settee forward section electronically converts to a forward-facing bench seat for underway or aft for dining and viewing TV. Pedestal cocktail table raises to dining table height. Characteristic of express sportscruisers, the hardtop features a huge electronically actuated sunroof that opens up the helm and salon area to sunlight and fresh sea breezes. Combined with the Azimut 55 Sport’s huge side windows, the salon has the ambience of a relaxing solarium; step down the cockpit steps to the “beach” deck for a therapeutic swim and relax in the sun on the cockpit sunbed lounge or on the more secluded foredeck!

Belowdecks accommodations are beautifully appointed, impeccably finished, with high-end materials and sufficient storage. Midships master stateroom with ensuite is full beam with athwartship queen berth and a booth-style breakfast nook under Azimut’s signature group of square hullside windows. The table converts to a vanity, another clever design feature. The forward VIP with centerline queen berth has a private entrance to the day/guest head. Starboard guest cabin features twin berths. A combo washer/dryer is tucked in a cabinet along steps to master stateroom.
