The Azimut 42 is Italian styling at its best in a midsize MotorYacht. Built on a deep-V hull with prop pockets to level the engines, the versatile layout of the Azimut 42 makes her perfect for entertaining and cruising. The cockpit is large enough for outdoor meals, and the 42’s large flybridge rivals anything in her class for comfort and amenities. Entering from the covered cockpit, the interior—a blend of high-gloss cherry cabinets, cream-colored leather upholstery, and deep pile carpeting—is unusually bright and open thanks to the vast amount of window space. A big C-shaped settee and adjustable dining table are to starboard, across from a smaller settee and entertainment cabinet to port. Forward and two steps up is the lower helm. The galley is to port, down a few steps where it’s out of view. The large master stateroom features an island queen berth and twin hanging lockers, and the guest stateroom across from the galley has side-by-side berths. Both heads have circular stall showers. The engine room is a tight fit. Molded flybridge steps, twin cockpit transom doors, teak cockpit sole, teak swim platform, and foredeck sun pad are standard.
42 Azimut Fly Walkthrough from Azimut
As you enter the salon from the covered cockpit you will first notice how much light pours into the salon through the signature Azimut cabin side windows. This vessel has beautiful high gloss cherry cabinetry throughout the interior cabin and has maintained well throughout the years. The Salon boasts plenty of seating on both port and starboard sides and the lower helm is elevated on the starboard side forward to give comfortable visibility. The lower galley is large for a boat of this size and pretty much has all the amenities found in most homes. Moving forward in the companionway you will find the large and cozy guest stateroom offering side by side berths for two. Forward of the guest stateroom you will find the large guest head which also has direct access to the guest stateroom. The large comfortable master stateroom is set centerline forward with its own private head offering plenty of storage and space to spend extended time onboard.
The captain will love the twin Caterpillar 3126TA diesel engine package. Visibility is wonderful from either the upper or lower helm with the elliptical windows of the salon. She is a sleek flybridge cruiser that offers Vetus bow and stern thrusters, full electronics suite, including radar and autopilot, camera system, Intellian satellite TV system, Opacmare teak pasarelle, and so much more.
