Mike LaNeve's passion for yachting began in his childhood days, growing up in the coastal town of Pompano Beach, Florida. He was fortunate to be raised by a father who owned and operated a yacht management company in Fort Lauderdale for three decades. From a young age, Mike eagerly helped with various tasks, such as washdowns, engine room details, and meticulous waxing, instilling in him a deep appreciation for yacht craftsmanship and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
As a licensed captain for 18 years, Mike's maritime journey continued to flourish when he moved to South Georgia, after his father's retirement. Working alongside charter captains, he gained valuable insights into yacht operations and customer service, further fueling his passion for the industry.
Fueled by a desire to complement his hands-on experience with a strong educational foundation, Mike pursued a degree in Business Management with a focus on supply chain and operations management at the Terry College of Business, University of Georgia. Armed with academic knowledge and real-world experiences, he embarked on a career dedicated to yacht brokerage.
Mike's entrepreneurial spirit led him to assist in the creation of "At the Helm Training," a pioneering owner-operator training course for new boat owners. Serving as Chief Operating Officer for two years, he played a pivotal role in developing a comprehensive program that empowers owners to confidently navigate their vessels.
With a commitment to elevating the yacht experience for his clients, Mike also founded "A Yacht Management Company," providing comprehensive general maintenance and project management services for yacht owners. Through this venture, he demonstrated his dedication to ensuring the optimal condition and operation of luxury yachts.
Drawing on his vast experience aboard yachts up to 80 feet and holding a Lean 6-Sigma Green Belt certification, Mike joined United Yacht Sales, a leading global brokerage firm renowned for its integrity and client-focused approach. As a Yacht Broker, he leverages his unique blend of hands-on experience, business expertise, and customer-centric philosophy to match discerning clients with their dream yachts and facilitate seamless transactions.
In his role at United Yacht Sales, Mike is not just a broker but also a kindred spirit, able to share his love for spearfishing, fishing, and the invigorating presence of the water with his clients.
