Matt Forti spent his childhood in Enterprise, Alabama. He graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Building Science and earned his commission through the Navy ROTC Unit.
He started his military career in Mayport, Florida as the Main Propulsion Officer and First Lieutenant on USS FARRAGUT (DDG 99), where he honed his leadership skills and earned his Officer of the Deck qualification and Surface Warfare Officer pin. Following his 1st division officer tour, Matt served as the Damage Control Assistant (DCA) on USS HALSEY (DDG 97) in Pearl Harbor, HI where he was out to sea for over 400 days in a 2-year period.
Currently, Matt works at the Pentagon in Washington, DC as part of the Unmanned Task Force, working for the Chief of Naval Operations.
After years at sea and driving ships, Matt earned his U.S. Coast Guard 200GT Master Captain’s License. After transitioning into the Navy Reserves in Spring 2024, Matt looks forward to leveraging his expertise in his next career as a yacht broker.
