Mark Collett has been around yachts for most of his life and has spent a majority of that time in British Columbia’s marine industry. Highlights of his career success include owning and operating a large marine store in Vancouver, running two successful yachting magazines, and sales and marketing of Yamaha Outboards, Kingfisher & HewesCraft Aluminum Boats, Yamaha Sport Boats, and Zodiac Inflatables for a local marine dealer. Mark’s expertise extends beyond the marine industry; he is also a BC Licensed Real Estate Agent. His business acumen, certifications, and personal history make him the go-to guy for your land and water investment needs.
Mark was the Owner/Operator of Granville Island Marine Supply in Vancouver, BC between 1987-1999. During this period of rapid growth, the store became Canada’s No. 1 Sperry Topsider dealer.
From 2000-2013, Mark was the Publisher and National Sales Manager for Pacific Yachting Magazine. He ran the day-to-day operations of this publishing company with 30+ employees and he played a major role in increasing the sales of the company by over 400%. Mark’s leadership and business strategy helped the company maintain profitability during the 2008-2009 financial crisis.
In 2013, Mark became a partner in Canadian Yachting Magazine and was responsible for launching the Western version of the magazine—Canadian Yachting West. Part of the company’s growth strategy was negotiating the Sales & Production of both the Toronto and Vancouver International Boat Show Guides.
Vancouver is always ranked as one of the best cities in the entire world. The British Columbia coast offers some, if not the best boating in the entire world. We see a huge opportunity to expose the avid BC Boater to one or more luxury yacht brands that are perfect for exploring the BC Coast.
Mark’s marine knowledge, proven sales experience, and his connections to many of the key people in the marine industry ensure that his clients receive the right information, make the right deal, and find the right boat for their experience on the water.
