Clint Boutwell is the Owner and Chief Executive Officer of United Yacht Sales, bringing to the company a rare blend of bluewater experience, entrepreneurial drive, and people-first leadership.
Originally from Texas, Clint moved frequently as a kid before ultimately putting down roots in Oxford, Mississippi and Florida’s Panhandle - two places that helped shape his love of both community and the water. That passion for the ocean started early. At just 13, a friend’s father taught Clint how to sail and soon invited the boys on an unforgettable offshore adventure: a nearly 10-day sailing trip from Fort Lauderdale to Freeport, Bahamas, and on to Bimini. Between hard-earned lessons underway and days spent spearfishing and gathering conch, Clint’s connection to the sea was cemented for life. To this day, he proudly calls himself a “Bluewater Guy”, thanks to a love for the ocean that runs deep.
Before stepping fully into the yachting industry, Clint built his career as a successful entrepreneur and restaurateur. His appreciation for hospitality began around his grandmother’s kitchen table and completed a brief internship with Emeril’s in New Orleans. When Hurricane Katrina changed everything, Clint and his family relocated to Tennessee, where he continued sharpening his skills and strengthening the resilience that would later define his business leadership.
Eventually, home pulled him back to Mississippi, when in May of 2013, The Oxford Grillhouse become a standout success story and is currently in operation and thriving in the home of the University of Mississippi.
Clint’s path to United Yacht Sales began the way many great boating stories do: as a client living the dream! After purchasing a 45-foot Prout sailing catamaran through United Yacht Sales and broker Trent Palmer, he started off on a solo sailing journey with his dog Oscar, leaving Stuart in January 2024 and arriving in Trinidad in May 2024, he realized he didn’t just love being on the water....he loved the business and the people behind it. That insight brought him back to become a professional yacht broker, and after immersing himself in the company, Clint ultimately purchased United Yacht Sales from previous owner Brian Boettler and Jeff Palmer, with a long-term vision focused on growth, clarity, and team alignment.
Clint's focus on family and team will include the addition of his daughter, Mary Lakyn, who will be joining the company after the Spring 2026 Ole Miss commencement ceremony. She will be starting her marine career at the ground level as she assists the marketing and listing department with a special focus on social media expansion as well as video showcasing on United's yacht listings.
As CEO, Clint is committed to elevating the broker's experience through better organization, streamlined processes, and a unified culture because when brokers are supported at the highest level, clients are too. For Clint, being near the water every day isn’t just a job, it’s the fulfillment of a lifelong dream, and he’s honored to lead United Yacht Sales into its next chapter.
