A true native Floridian, Richard grew up in the Tampa Bay area. He has always been drawn to any water-related activity: scuba diving, skiing, windsurfing, fishing, cruising, and especially sailboat racing. Since the age of twelve, he has owned and operated both sailboats and powerboats, which makes him knowledgeable and comfortable “speaking either language". His sailing experience runs the gamut from various small one-design boats and beach catamarans to club MORC designed boats and PHRF rated boats. Richard also is an experienced offshore racer. He stays very active as both a participant and a volunteer in local sailing events, regional competitions, statewide and national regattas.

Richard’s powerboat experience began with family cruises along the west coat of Florida, the Keys, and the Bahamas. He enjoys flats fishing on Tampa Bay, and sports fishing along Florida’s coastline.

Richard's successful career in the Production, and Sales/Marketing divisions of a global steel manufacturer led him to a thorough understanding of the importance of customer service, organization, communication, and follow-through. Today, his attention to detail and commitment to each client is a result of his years of success in business and in boating.
