Sue and I have been boating for 43 years. We have met and walked the docks with a lot of brokers in that time, but had never met anyone in your industry quite like you. You may recall we met a few years ago at a sea trial in Charleston, SC. Our son and his wife were sea trialing a vessel to live on in Washington DC. You were our sons’ broker and drove down from Beaufort, NC for the sea trial. As an interested and somewhat well versed father I flew in from Ft Lauderdale, FL. When I saw the boat and observed the survey process, I knew this boat was not the right boat for my son and his wife. While the boat was in the slings I asked you how the day was going. In response, you looked me in the eye and said “your son should not buy this boat”. You had me as a client from there! Brokers are in business to sell boats, and I just met one that really had her clients’ best interest before her own welfare.
As Sue and I started our latest search on the internet for our next vessel, it would have been easy to call the listing brokers for each of the boats we had interest in, and scheduled appointments all over the southeast. Instead we chose to call you. In our conversations we were able to distill the parameters of what we really were looking for regarding size, engines, equipment, condition and price. As we all did research, you would network with other brokers by telephone to get accurate information regarding boats of interest. By being exclusive with you, we were able to save hours of fruitless searching. When it became time for an offer, you were able to give us accurate information on comparable vessels that were recently sold. All during this process you had great insight, were forthright in your views, and were very articulate. We always knew what you were thinking!
